  • Overview

    Will serve as the expert in information security, including risk management mindset, knowledge across multiple security domains, technical solution designs and architecture, and leadership for implementing security capabilities and security controls that will include:

    • Shape security innovation and plays key role in the evolution of enterprise architecture and security capabilities.
    • Make decisions on complex or ambiguous IT architecture issues.
    • Coordinating with users to determine requirements, and ensuring system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored.
    • Find ways to increase efficiency by focusing on endpoint security and data security, and assisting identity and access management. 

    Must currently be local to the Northern Chicago area and not require sponsorship.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Create, maintain and drive information security technology strategies and roadmaps related to Endpoint Security and Data Security.
    • Partner withGlobal Security and Infrastructure Services to plan and drive the implementation of security capabilities.
    • Responsible for the architecture (reference architecture and solution architecture) of the technology in Endpoint Security and Data Security.
    • Set up best practices and provide directions and guidance of how to utilize the technology and its capabilities. Drive the development of security specifications, standards, and processes to ensure adequate protection of corporate network and cloud environment.
    • Work with other architects to design the security solutions for applications or systems, and/or provide expertise and consulting to the project teams on security controls needed.
    • Help governing security standards and architecture directions when supporting business needs and establishing business capabilities.
    • Serve as an information security advisor to key technology and business stakeholders, establishing trust relationships through active engagement and collaboration.


    Common Architect Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Utilize or develop reusable patterns, practices, and enterprise reference architectures that fit within the overall architectural blueprint.
    • Apply reference architectures and positions toward the design, deployment and support of highly complex systems that deliver business functionality.
    • Develop high complexity architectural solution concepts and support Pursuit team with feasibility and high-level project estimation.
    • Advocate effective architectural designs and optimize current architecture and processes. 
    • Influence clients and partners to prioritize for enterprise benefit and risk reduction and assist in driving the adoption of technology solutions that leverage existing patterns, practices and reference architectures.
    • Recommend when tactical solutions should be replaced or incorporated into sunset and refresh strategies for assigned application(s), project(s) or discipline.
    • Provide technical and professional leadership and coach more junior level Architects.
    • Work with strategic vendors and partners to review and influence product roadmaps, strategies, and plans with a view to identify gaps and recommending solutions that serve to gain alignment with company needs, both current and future.


    • 5+ years’ experience in understanding security risks, identifying gaps and creating strategies, roadmaps, and architecture directions and patterns. Demonstrated experience in driving strategies, architecture directions, universal architectures, and working across boundary to improve security posture for the organization.
    • 5+ years’ experience in designing, architecting, and implementing complex enterprise applications, infrastructures, platforms and systems, addressing security, performance, scalability, and reliability. Demonstrated ability to perform a risk-based approach to securing applications, databases or infrastructure based upon technology and business needs  Extensive knowledge and 5+ years’ experience on one or more of the following:
    • Demonstrated strong knowledge and experiences on platform and endpoint security
    • Windows, Linux
    • Mobile
    • Anti-Virus & Anti-Malware
    • Endpoint Detection and Response
    • File Integrity Monitoring and Secure Configuration
    • Levels of Encryption
    • Extensive knowledge of security architectures and designs
    • Encryption and Tokenization technology
    • Key Management and PKI
    • Data Loss Prevention


    • Cloud experiences (AWS, Azure, etc) and cloud security Architecture
    • Identity and Access Management
    • Network Security
    • Application Security
    • Data Analytics
    • Threat Modeling, threat analysis and threat intelligence
    • General knowledge of information security, including infrastructure security, application security, identity and access management, data security, threat intelligence, compliance frameworks, and other regulatory requirements such as SOX, PCI, HIPAA or FedRamp
    • Security certifications (CISSP or others)
